1935
A story that starts with two brothers and a dream.
From the heart of Liébana, Cantabria, Juan and Florencio Gómez Cuétara set off for Mexico with their suitcases full of dreams. There, their entrepreneurial spirit was born and, in 1935, they brought their true dream to life: baking biscuits. That’s how Cuétara began to take shape.
1951
Roots that bloom again.
After years of hard work in Mexico, the brothers returned to Spain. They took over a small biscuit factory in Santander, laying the foundations for what would become an unforgettable brand. In Reinosa and later in Villarejo, the aroma of biscuits began to fill people’s homes. Cuétara S.A. was born, with the purpose of reaching every household in the country.
1985
When dreams cross borders.
With the celebration of Cuétara’s 50th anniversary, eyes turned to Europe. We made our way into the world by reaching Portugal. The years go by, but the essence remains: recipes made with care, a taste of history.
2015
Changing to stay true to who we’ve always been.
In 2015, we were reborn once again: Cuétara became part of Adam Foods, with the same passion as always… and with the desire to keep sharing moments.
We’re still here… thanks to you.
